Lets go deeper into this fish canning.....In the instructions that is provided by the manufacturer it states "As recommended by the USDA the model 910 and 915 are NOT RECOMMENDED for canning SMOKED FISH because these units heat and cool too quickly for safe processing of SMOKED FISH. Quart Jars are NO LONGER RECOMMENDED by the USDA for safe processing." This notation is not stated under Raw Fish, Fried Fish, Smelt, or Crab Meat...It also states that many species of fish are suitable for canning like: Trout, Northern Pike, Smelt and tuna as well as suckers and salmon.

I have owned one of these for 10 years - brilliant pressure cooker/canner. I used Presto for years, and still use my old canners as a backup when pushed for time. However this canner beats anything I've ever owned. Brilliantly simple to use - no gasket, easy to learn, perfect results every time. I run this on my gas range, and have had absolutely no problems.

Built to lastKassie
I bought this canner last year and man it is built to last. Very heavy duty and very easy to use. It is constructed with a very tick metal and has no gasket for me to have to replace. The steam gauge is completely readable with very visible numbers and I love the weighted regulator. It lets me pick the setting of pounds that I need to can with instead of me standing over the stove all day...I am happy with this product and a customer for life. Thank You
